  • Several dozen men and women carried various loaded handguns and unloaded rifles as they walked in downtown Massillon on Saturday afternoon. The one-hour stroll was meant to raise awareness for gun-owner rights and safety.
The walk was organized by Northeast Ohio Carry, a firearm education and advocacy group, founded in 2012. The group’s mission is to educate people on the issues of open carry, concealed carry, gun-owner rights and gun safety.
Northeast Open Carry is planning another open-carry walk for noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 17 starting at Saxton Gallery, 520 Cleveland Ave. NW, Canton.
