KEY ACTION Trustees during a public hearing declared 7811 Parkford St. NW a nuisance and approved cleanup of the property.
DISCUSSION There are three vehicles and two trailers with expired license plates on the property, along with a hot tub, wood, bricks, mowers and tires, according to information given to trustees. Zoning inspector Joni Poindexter said the property had also been a problem in 2009, 2010 and 2011, but each time the owner, Jeff Diamond, removed the vehicles and appliances before a nuisance violation hearing was held. This time, Diamond, who has a Florida address, acknowledged he received the letter from the zoning department but did not contact Poindexter about cleaning up the property. He did not attend Tuesday’s hearing.
“I don’t know what’s going on there, but the property’s a mess,” Poindexter said.
The trustees met in executive session to discuss the investigation of charges or complaints against an employee, public official or regulated individual and to discuss legal department personnel.
The trustees increased the hours for the township’s legal secretary from 32 to 40 hours a week until Jan. 3, 2014.
The trustees set a public hearing for a street-lighting district for Concord Street NW for 5:30 p.m. Aug. 13.
The trustees approved the hiring of a temporary park maintenance worker at $7.85 an hour, effective Monday.
UP NEXT Meets at 5 p.m. Aug. 13 at Township Hall.
