“This is a dangerous storm,” the weather service said on its website. “Seek shelter inside now and stay away from windows.”
This warning was issued in addition to the severe thunderstorm watch, flood warning and flash flood watch, the website said.
The last of those to expire is the flood warning, which is effective until 4:48 p.m. Thursday.
The Akron-Canton Airport was reporting light rain and a thunderstorm at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday with a temperature of 85 degrees.
The most recent alert, a thunderstorm warning, was issued at 2:14 p.m. Wednesday when the weather service’s Doppler radar indicated a “severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter-size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.”
The storm was located near Louisville and heading east at 25 mph toward Alliance, the weather service said.
