  • The Akron-Canton area saw 5.91 inches of rain during June, putting the month less than half an inch away from being one of the wettest Junes on record.
    The National Weather Service keeps a count of the top 10 rainiest Junes in Akron-Canton. No. 10 was in 1950, when the area got 6.29 inches of rain. If the Akron-Canton collection site had recorded another 0.38 inches of rain, 2013 would have made it onto the list.
    The wettest June in history was in 1924, with 11.12 inches.
    Akron-Canton logs 3.83 inches of rain during an average June, according to the weather service.
    Last year, the area had 1.71 inches of rain during the month.
