  • United Way campaign extends deadline to Dec. 13

  • United Way has raised 65 percent of its goal of $7.1 million.

  • United Way of Greater Stark County has extended its annual fundraising campaign through Dec. 13. Due to a projected shortfall in donations estimated to be collected by the original campaign end, the campaign will run an additional two weeks.
    To make a pledge, call 330-491-9958 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., or visit www.uwstark.org and click on “give.” United Way does not solicit door to door.
    United Way has raised 65 percent of its goal of $7.1 million.
    The annual campaign raises funds to support 96 programs at 39 United Way-funded partners, strategic community initiatives and direct services such as United Way’s 2-1-1 Information & Referral help line and United Way’s Volunteer Center. Last year, the campaign exceeded its goal of $7 million.
    Campaign Chair Thomas Swidarski, CEO of Diebold, leads the 2012 volunteer campaign team. Robert Belden is serving as campaign vice chair in preparation for service in 2013 as overall campaign chair.
