What is it, you ask? The second Senior Health and Fitness Day held at the Paul and Carol David YMCA in Jackson Township. It is Wednesday, May 25 and you can attend anytime during the hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. You can plan for a 30-minute visit, but once you are there you might just want to spend the day when you see what is going on.
Activities are planned that anyone on top of the hill or slightly over will enjoy. Entertainment will be provided by the popular Ms. Senior Ohio, Tula Serves. Enjoy her music and get to know her and her story. She will be entertaining throughout the day.
9 a.m.—Food, bagels and coffee provided by Mercy Medical Center.
10 a.m.—After a little nourishment enjoy the dog show which will be available between the hours of 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Lunch—Mexican lunch items will be served by B Loco and fruit will be provided by Humana. There is nothing better than a chocolate chip cookie and popcorn to top off breakfast and lunch or anytime throughout the day. Those tasty morsels will be provided by Meadow Wind Health Care throughout the day. All items available while supply lasts.
12 p.m.—Hear what Dr. Romero has to say about “What happens when we sneeze or cough?” His talk can be very beneficial to many including younger women. He has help tips for restoring bladder control.
Throughout the day health assessments will be available as well as Spa treatments including a chair massage.
Vendors will be on hand with products, programs and information. Last year, vendors liked the event because it was well organized and that they made some connections with the participants, said Sue McFarland, Member Relations Director for the Y.
At this event, Dale Smith from Meadow Wind Health Care will be the emcee and everyone has a chance to spin the wheel for a prize.
“I wish I had told my neighbors and friends about this, it is wonderful,” said Nancy Wake about last year’s event.
Don’t miss out.
