  • Central Catholic, St. Joseph teachers earn Golden Apple

  • Two Stark County teachers are among seven who have been awarded the 2013 Golden Apple Award by the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown.

     Sponsored by the Donahue Family Foundation of Pittsburgh, the Golden Apple Award honors outstanding individuals who teach or are administrators in Catholic schools. The award consists of an unrestricted cash award of $5,000, a certificate, a commemorative paperweight and a lapel pin. The awards will be presented at a dinner on May 22 at the Youngstown Country Club.
    Other winners are: Patricia Anthony of  Girard; Deborah Beasley of Boardman; Cassandra Donofrio of Randolph; Sister Charlotte Italiano of Canfield, and Heather Zernich of East Liverpool.
