  • Akron-Canton Airport is celebrating customer appreciation today in the main atrium with free coffee and muffins this morning and cookies and bottled water in the afternoon. Passengers will receive customized CAK fortune cookies, kids get balloon animals and there is a commemorative vacation photo booth available. Passengers on the first Southwest/AirTran flight arriving at 10:49 a.m. will receive gift bags at baggage claim.
Other surprises include a drawing for $50 gift cards on Southwest Airlines. Each customer in standard parking will get a car air freshener as they exit the parking lot or ride the shuttle to the main terminal. Just  two days before the team’s home opener, the Akron Aeros’ mascot Orbit will be stopping by at 1:30 p.m.
Follow #CustomerLove all day on the airport’s Twitter @CAKairport. And CAK Facebook fans can win as well. Four prize-pack drawings, including $50 Southwest gift cards, will be held throughout the day at Facebook.com/AkronCantonAirport.
Finally, representatives of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign will be on hand educating travelers about heart health.
