  • Meteorologists say isolated thunderstorms could bring “strong damaging winds” Tuesday.
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather statement for most of Ohio.
In Stark County, where the chance of isolated thunderstorms was listed at 20 percent for Tuesday and 60 percent for Tuesday night, the weather service said the storms could be severe Tuesday afternoon and evening.
“The main threat from his complex of thunderstorms will be strong damaging winds. Locally heavy rainfall will also be possible,” the weather service said on its website.
The temperature was expected to reach 85 degrees Tuesday before falling to an overnight low of 69 and then rising again Wednesday to 86.
At 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, skies were “mostly cloudy with haze” at the Akron-Canton Airport, where the temperature was 74 degrees, the weather service said.
