  • The Lake Township Historical Society will celebrate Flay Day Friday with the opening of the display “History of Flags” at the One-Room Schoolhouse, 1101 Lake Center Road, Uniontown, Ohio. The display will be open from 2 to 5 p.m. and features 20 flags as well as a brief history of each one.
Twelve of the flags are replicas of those flown during the Revolutionary War, before our present day flag became official.
Children will have a chance to draw and color their own flag as sidewalk art or on construction paper. Old worn-out flags will be collected and delivered to local boys scouts for proper disposal.
The display also will be open to the public on June 16, June 23, July 7, July 21, Aug. 4, Aug. 18, Sept. 8 and Sept. 18.
