A Buckingham Circle NW woman, 55, was booked into Stark County Jail June 12 on a domestic violence charge. She is accused of punching and scratching her daughter and pulling a chunk of hair out of her head during an argument over clothing.
Police are looking for the person who broke into a Wales Avenue ice cream shop June 15. Reports said someone gained entry by smashing out the drive-thru window. Two safes were reported taken from the office.
A corn hole board valued at $100 was reported stolen June 15 from an open garage in the 9400 block of Paulding Street NW.
Also on June 15, a resident on Ranier Avenue said he was in another part of the house when he heard a loud noise coming from upstairs. When he went to investigate, he found the front door had been kicked open. He searched the house and found no one inside and nothing missing.
An 18-year-old Dover woman was charged with theft June 14 at a Dressler Road department store. Police alleged she concealed $80 worth of merchandise and left without paying.
A Mountain bike valued at $180 was reported stolen June 14 from the back porch of a home on Malabu Avenue NW.
A loss prevention officer at a Mega Street department store called police after witnessing a woman pushing a cart full of merchandise out the front door without paying. The suspect, identified as a 31-year-old North Canton resident, was charged with theft and released with a summons.
Six wood split rails valued at $60 were reported taken June 14 from outside a Wales Avenue NW business.
Also on June 14, a Lindbergh Road NW woman reported someone obtained a credit card using her personal information. The suspect tried to use the card at a department store in Stockton, Calif., she said.
A Canton man, 45, of Edelweiss Street, was charged June 13 with theft and possessing criminal tools. He was observed going into a fitting room with clothing and jewelry and coming out a short time later without the items. A security officer checked the room and found a pair of shorts with tags from the jewelry items inside one of the pockets. The man was detained in the parking lot. A knife, presumably used to cut the tags, was found in his pocket.
A realtor told police that someone kicked open the front door of an unoccupied home on Peninsula Drive NW sometime between June 8 and 10. Nothing was reported
A Canton man, 45, of Colonial Boulevard NE, was charged June 13 with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said he was found with a baggie of marijuana and a purple pipe during a traffic stop for a suspended license.
Also on June 13, a 49-year-old Akron man was charged with theft at a Dressler Road department store. Police said he was observed putting various pieces of jewelry in his pocket after removing the price tags.
Police made two warrant arrests June 12. A 24-year-old Louisville woman was picked up at the Belden Village Mall on a warrant charging her with possession of drug abuse instruments. She was turned over to Canton police. A 23-year-old Canton woman was found with two active warrants during a stop for a traffic violation. Police said one of the warrants was for driving under suspension, which records showed the woman was cited 10 times for in the past. She was turned over to Stark County deputies.

A Canton woman, 20, of Lincoln Street, was charged with theft June 12. Police said she stole a $14 tank top from a Dressler Road department store.
Also on June 12, a 25-year-old Frazier Street woman was arrested after she was accused of stealing $40 from a Portage Street truck stop, where she was employed.
A 24-year-old Akron man with three prior drunken driving convictions was found intoxicated again during a traffic stop on Shuffle Road June 11. He refused a blood/alcohol test, police said. Because of his prior record, he was arrested on a felony DUI and booked into the Stark County Jail.
