I have been shopping for some new spring clothes and I noticed a lot of colored denim this year. I’ve only ever worn blue or black jeans, but I liked some of the brighter colors. Do you think this trend is only for young people or can anyone pull it off?

Dear Michael,

I have been shopping for some new spring clothes and I noticed a lot of colored denim this year. I’ve only ever worn blue or black jeans, but I liked some of the brighter colors. Do you think this trend is only for young people or can anyone pull it off?

Sincerely,

Bold Jeans

Dear Miss Bold,

Girlfriend, we only live once. What fun is living your life in blue and black? Spice it up with colored jeans. I don’t believe people get too old to wear colors. You can always wear a black or white shirt with colored denim so that you aren’t wearing too many colors. You’d find me in pink pants any day! I say go for it, it’s a fun trend.

Dear Michael,

Last year, I went on a blind date on St. Patrick’s Day. I went out and bought a green dress for the occasion. When I arrived at the restaurant for the date, the guy that I was meeting was intoxicated. He attempted to compliment my dress by saying it was a lovely shade of green, and that it reminded him of his days at the pool hall. Needless to say, the date didn’t go well and I opted out of a second one. He has called me a couple of times since that night, and he wants a second chance this St. Patrick’s Day. He has apologized for last year and says that if I will give him another chance, he will be there stone sober. Do you think I should give him another try?

Sincerely,

St. Pat’s Date

Dear Miss Date,

Everyone deserves a second chance!  Maybe he had imbibed because he was nervous about the date. If you don’t have other plans, I would say to go for it. Even if it doesn’t work out, you can’t say you didn’t give him a fair chance. You could be letting a good opportunity pass you by because of one little mistake. What do you have to lose? Give the guy a chance, and if it doesn’t work out, at least you got dinner out of the deal.

Your Diva Michael

Dear Michael,

What do you think is the best way to make a good first impression? There is this guy that works in my building who I have seen a couple of times. He’s well dressed and very attractive, but I don’t think he has noticed me. How would you go about getting his attention?

Sincerely,

Too Shy

Dear Miss Shy,

Have you tried a push-up bra and some red lipstick? That always seems to do the trick. Have you introduced yourself to this gentleman? Try striking up a light conversation as a way to get in, and then introduce yourself. It can’t be too hard to start a conversation if you work in the same building. The best way to be sure that someone remembers you is to introduce yourself. Who knows what will happen from there? Maybe your conversations will lead to dinner. The only way to find out is to take that first step.

Love,

Your Diva Michael
