  • Passenger records continue to fall at Akron-Canton Airport. June set the all-time monthly mark for customers traveling to and from the airport.

  • Akron-Canton Airport has set another monthly passenger record.
    One month after setting the all-time mark, the airport reported Wednesday morning that 168,935 customers traveled to and from the airport in June, beating May by 10,000 passengers.
    Compared to last June, the airport hosted 17,820 more passengers.
    For the first six months of 2012, 874,270 travelers flew to and from the airport, up 12 percent compared to the same period in 2011.
    “We are so grateful to our customers for choosing Akron-Canton Airport for their flights,” said Rick McQueen, president and CEO. “Our CAK team works hard every day to make the travel experience more enjoyable and relaxing. From pouring the coffee to buffing the floors and readying the terminal, our team is committed to make CAK a better way to go.”
    June 2012 also marks the 15th consecutive month of record-breaking passenger traffic, the press release said.
