  • A Deleford Road woman, 23, was charged with disorderly conduct after an alleged incident at a Dressler Road bar. An employee reported seeing the woman with her hands around the neck of another woman in the bathroom. The other woman fled the scene.

  • A 33-year-old man of Lasater Street, Canton, was charged May 8 with domestic violence. He is accused of pushing his wife’s head into a door frame at their home. He was booked into the Stark County Jail. Court records showed the man has two previous convictions for domestic violence in Summit County.
    On May 9, an Arlington Avenue woman told police a family member used her credit card without her permission to make multiple purchases. During the period, she said the suspect also used her personal information to try to obtain another credit card. Police were investigating.
    A 33-year-old Reynoldsburg woman ended up going to jail on a petty theft charge after she reportedly told the officer that she wasn’t going to show up on her court date. The woman was arrested after she was observed putting items in her purse at an Everhard Road store and then leaving without paying.
    A Wheeling, W. Va. woman told police she left her purse in a man’s car while they were at a Sunset Strip hotel May 9. She later learned the man took money out of the purse before they went their separate ways.
    Also on May 9, an employee at a Fulton Drive NW business said someone used her company credit card on four separate occasions to purchase items online. Police were investigating.
    A 23-year-old woman of Pear Court, North Canton, was charged with theft May 8. Police said she left a Dressler Road department store with $46 worth of merchandise hidden in her purse.
    A 22-year-old man of Shakertown Drive, Canton, was booked into the Stark County Jail May 8 on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and improper handling of a weapon in a motor vehicle. Police said they found a loaded semi-automatic pistol in his pickup truck during a traffic stop on Fulton Drive NW.
    A lawn tractor was stolen during the overnight hours of May 8 from a garage at a Portage Street church. The suspect pried open the door to gain entry, police said.

    On May 7, the manager of a floral shop on Supreme Avenue NW said someone put a hole in his van’s gas tank and siphoned four gallons of gasoline. On the same day, a maintenance cage valued at $75 was reported stolen from a business on Strausser Avenue NW.
    A 26-year-old Canton man and a 40-year-old Dover woman were arrested May 5 on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia. Police stopped the man on Fulton Drive after determining there was a warrant out for his arrest. Officers found a needle in his shirt pocket during a pat down, they said. The woman had a crack pipe in her purse along with a medicine bottle containing other drug-related instruments. She was issued a court summons. The man was booked into the Stark County Jail.
    Page 2 of 2 - A 27-year-old man of Sawyer Street NW, Canton, was charged May 5 with permitting drug abuse. Police said he allowed another man to use his home to commit a drug trafficking violation. He was arrested during a traffic stop on Applegrove Street.
    A 9mm Ruger pistol valued at $500 was reported stolen May 4 from a gun cabinet at a home on Drexel Street NW.
    An Orrville Street man, 18, was charged May 4 with carrying concealed weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police initially charged the man for driving while impaired after stopping him for speeding on Wales Avenue. During a search of his car, officers found a large butcher knife and a syringe in the glove box. The man admitted to abusing methadone and other drugs. He said he had the butcher knife in case of road rage.
    A 39-year-old woman of West Maple Street, North Canton, was charged with theft May 3 at a Dressler Road department store. Police said she took several pieces of sterling silver jewelry into a fitting room, cut off the tags and then put the pieces in her purse. She was detained by a loss prevention officer in the parking lot.
