  • Fate knows what it’s doing.
That’s why it brought Kozmo into Melissa Nagy’s life.
Just when Nagy needed him, Kozmo was there, fluffy and full of love, ready to make her laugh and even get her up and going.
“We don’t bother setting our alarm clocks because we know Kozmo will wake us up,” Nagy, a Uniontown resident, said. “… My husband wasn’t a morning person, but with Kozmo, you have to be.”
Kozmo wakes the family up every morning and encourages them to lace up their sneakers, grab a leash and hit the pavement.
“He loves going for walks, really good walks get him excited,” Nagy said. “In the process, I have lost more than 20 pounds because, since we got Kozmo, he makes us walk. He cares about everyone in the family and keeps us active and moving.”
Every day with Kozmo is a brand new adventure and Nagy couldn’t help but share all of the ways that Kozmo has brought sunshine into her life. When she saw a promotion from Iams’ Love Tails in which the company was looking for a dog to star in an upcoming advertisement. She signed Kozmo up for the contest and the pooch was chosen as a finalist. A national vote will determine if he gets his 15 minutes of fame.
Starting Monday, videos of all the finalists – including Kozmo – will be avilable on the Iams Facebook page, www.facebook.com/Iams. Anyone can visit the page and vote for Kozmo.
Nagy knows that Kozmo has a chance of picking up the grand prize because his gentle, loving nature comes through in every photograph.
“He has human eyes,” Nagy said. “I think he may have a person in his past.”
It was those beautiful, puppy dog eyes that drew her to him the moment she saw him.
“I had seen him on the computer and I knew the moment I saw him that he had to be coming home to us,” Nagy said. “… I knew from that moment that he was going to be ours.”
Kozmo has since proven that he is the perfect fit for the Nagy family. He never ceases to make them laugh or show them just how far a little bit of love can go.
“He was a loving pup from the day we brought him home,” Nagy said. “He never whimpered at nighttime and he fit right in with our family on day one. He is a dog that demands your attention and he is going to be right in your face because he wants you to pay attention.”
