Jackson grad Max Paulus among QBs selected for Ohio vs. Michigan College Football Senior Bowl.
Jackson High School graduate Max Paulus is returning home to Stark County for his final game as a college football player.
Paulus is one of four quarterbacks selected to play in the 2013 Ohio vs. Michigan College Football Senior Bowl — which is set for 1 p.m., April 20 at Fawcett Stadium.
Paulus, who starred in college at Denison, joins Kent State’s Spencer Keith as the Team Ohio quarterbacks. Team Michigan will feature Central Michigan’s Ryan Radcliff and Hillsdale’s Anthony Mifsud.
Paulus was a three-year starter for the Big Red. He finished his career as the all-time leader in passing yards (6,545), touchdowns (53) and completions (587). A two-time honorable mention All-NCAC pick, he passed for 2,117 yards and 18 TDs in 2012.
Keith, a four-year starter for the Golden Flashes, is Kent State’s career leader in passing yards (8,062) and completions (732), while his 45 touchdowns passes are second best in school history. He finished the 2012 season with 2,021 passing yards and 12 TDs; leading Kent State to an 11-3 record and a trip to the MAC championship game and the GoDaddy.com Bowl.
Radcliff, a three-year starter for Central Michigan, finished his stellar career second in the program history in passing yards (9,917), attempts (1,349), completions (791), TD passes (65), total offense (9,765) and games with 300-plus passing yards (14). He directed the Chippewas to a 7-6 record in 2012 and earned the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl MVP honors after passing for 253 yards and three touchdowns in a 24-21 win over Western Kentucky. The Ohio native finished the 2012 campaign throwing for 3,158 yards and 23 TDs.
Mifsud helped guide the Chargers to their second straight GLIAC North Division championship after posting a 7-4 record and passing for 2,108 and 18 touchdowns in 2012. Mifsud finished his career ranked seventh in school history with 4,628 passing yards and 36 touchdowns.
