  • EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
The annual Stark County Home and Garden Show, presented by the Building Industry Association of Stark County and The Repository, is sure to usher in thoughts of spring, with eight luxury landscape displays, a flower and tree sale and presentations about home projects.
    • Matt Fox, co-host of PBS’s “Around the House,” will share his expertise during two presentations about weekend home projects. He is slated to speak at noon and 4 p.m. Saturday at the Stark Parks Main Stage.
    • Visitors with treasures in their attics will have a chance to figure out if those old items are worth money, as Bill Gill of Kiko Auctioneers will offer appraisals for antiques and collectibles during the weekend. Appraisals will be given from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stark Parks Main Stage.
    • The event also will include a wine tasting at 5 p.m. Saturday, hosted by Fishers Foods. Tickets, which are not included in the show’s admission price, are $8 and are good for 10 tastings and appetizers.
    • Extreme money-saving techniques and coupon tips will be shared by Sara Steigerwald, the owner of Sisters Shopping on a Shoestring, at 1 p.m. Saturday.
    • The venue also includes a new children’s play area, home and garden vendors and food from Old Carolina Barbecue Co.
    WHY ATTEND?
The show is a great way to find inspiration for summer projects and to remember that spring isn’t that far away. The best part is that admission is only $3 this year, half price.
