  • The Catholic Diocese of Youngstown recently hosted a meeting to improve the Emergency Management Plans and school safety of its 35 schools.
    Deputies from the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office facilitated the workshop. Topics focused on basic stategies, ways to secure classrooms, the A.L.I.C.E.  (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evaluate) system of school safety; evaluation and lockdown techniques that will be beneficial in an emergency.
    All diocese schools will be conducting audits of their emergency management plans and overall safety. For more information contact the Office of Catholic Schools at 330-744-8451.
