  • Canal Fulton-area woman killed in Green crash

  • A fatal traffic crash on Arlington Road Friday afternoon has forced closure of the northbound lanes until 7 tonight.
    The affected area is near Arlington Ridge shopping plaza, which includes the Target store, near I-77. The two-car accident occurred at 2 p.m., according to a news release from the Summit County Sheriff’s office.
    According to the release, a 33-year-old Canal Fulton area woman, driving a Toyota Matrix, crashed into the rear of a van, which was stopped in the northbound lanes. Her identity has not yet been released.
    The woman died a short time later in a local hospital. Her passenger and the driver of the van were taken to a local hospital by the Green Fire Department. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
