  • A 53-year-old Barberton man drowned Wednesday night in the Nimisila Reservoir, according to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
    The man was fishing with three others around 6:55 p.m. when he fell out of the boat. Witnesses were unable to rescue him. Searchers from the sheriff’s office and the Ohio Division of Natural Resources looked for him with help from dive teams from the Akron, New Franklin, Green and Coventry fire departments, according to the sheriff’s office.
    The man’s body was recovered by divers, and he was pronounced dead at the reservoir around 11 p.m., according to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office.
     Later Thursday, the coroner's office identified the victim as MIchael R. Schake.
