“When an adult has sudden cardiac arrest, his or her survival may be dependent on how quickly they receive CPR.  Most often, our friends, family and coworkers do not experience sudden cardiac arrest in a hospital, so receiving CPR from someone in their immediate vicinity is crucial.  Unfortunately, less than one-third of people experiencing a cardiac arrest outside of a medical setting receive the help they need,” said Deborah Washington, RN, BSN, Chest Pain Center Coordinator at Summa Health System.
