Look ahead

- Tuesday is a big music day, and one of the hottest stars – Justin Beiber – is involved. Bieber’s Christmas album, “Under the Mistletoe,” is out, as are albums from Susan Boyle, The Beach Boys, The Decemberists, They Might Be Giants, Tyrese, Lou Reed & Metallica, Megadeth and more.

- The world population is expected to hit 7 billion on Monday, according to the United Nations. That number, which keeps growing, has big implications for our planet.

- Tuesday also will see the release of a popular book, one by Condoleezza Rice. The former secretary of state talks about her time serving under President George W. Bush.

- The big movies opening Friday are “A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas,” rated R, starring Kal Penn, John Cho and Neil Patrick Harris; and “Tower Heist,” PG-13, starring Eddie Murphy, Ben Stiller and Casey Affleck.
