  • Gervasi Vineyard can add a gold medal to its list of accomplishments.
Friday, it was announced that the Stark County-based vineyard had received a 2013 Ohio Wine Competition Gold Medal for its Luce Luce wine, a Pinot Grigio.
Earning a gold medal  is a reflection of the quality of the wine and speaks to the vineyard’s dedicated and talented winery team who strive for excellence on a daily basis.
"Look into a glass of Luce Luce (Italian for Light, Light) and imagine the illumination of an early morning sky over the Mediterranean,” Gervasi Winemake Andrew Codispoti said.
The off-dry white wine is zesty, with bright, crisp Italian flavor which offers folds of pears, citrus and apples with a sustained and pleasant finish.
In addition to the gold medal award, Gervasi Vineyard took a silver medal for its Truscano "Italian Tribute" Sangiovese Blend and employs hints of black currant, plum and the subtle influence of oak.
To complete their honors, Gervasi took a bronze for its Bellina, which translated means "Pretty!" A premium Chardonnay with honey and golden hues, Bellina is elegantly structured and allures with fragrances of tropical fruit framed by restrained oak. Each taste offers flavors of citrus, apricot, pear and honey supported by a refreshing layer of briskness.
Gervasi Vineyard is located at 1700 55th Street NE, Canton, Ohio. For more information about Gervasi Wines, visit www.gervasivineyard.com or call 330-497-1000.
