  • Formerly a duo, Across the Viaduct is still finding its legs as a full band.
Vocalist-guitarist Steven Turner and bassist Nathan Clapper are the charter members.
Turner: “It kinda grew out of the friendship between us.”
Clapper: “We played in the (Perry High School) jazz band together.”
Turner: “Clapper writes the instrumentals, I write the melodies and lyrics.”

Drummer Nathan Bauman and lead guitarist John Thompson are recent additions to the Viaduct lineup.
Thompson: “Before when they played, it was mostly just guitar chords. Now there’s leads. It’s a fuller sound.”
While Across the Viaduct has played some loose gigs downtown at First Friday, the Battle of the Bands will be a different animal entirely.
Bauman: “It’s definitely going to be an experience. We’ve never played onstage with the full band.”
Thompson: “We want more people to hear our music.” Thompson says.
Turner: “I’m getting all over that big stage. I like being the hype guy.”
Do the guys dream of rock stardom?
Thompson: “I think everyone in a band does.”
Turner: “When me and Clapper started this, we said, ‘We’re either going to get big or keep trying.”
