Q: Did the county raise its sewer rates?
A: No. The charge on your sewer bill reflects two months of sewer service, which for most customers is $22 a month. The county will now send sewer bills every other month instead of monthly. County water and tap-in customers continue to be billed on a monthly basis.
Q: Can I still make a monthly payment?
A: Yes. You will be credited when the payment is received, but you will not see the payment until the two-month invoice is received.
Q: Where do I send my payments?
A: Sewer payments should be sent to Stark County Sanitary Engineering Department, P.O. Box 24801, Canton, OH, 44701-4801. Payments for county water and tap-in bills should continue to be sent to Stark County Sanitary Engineering Department, P.O. Box 7906, Canton, OH, 44705-7906. A 24-hour depository is available at the sanitary engineer’s office at 1701 Mahoning Road NE in Canton.
Q: Can I have my payment automatically withdrawn from my account?
A: Yes, customers can enroll into the county’s direct pay program, which automatically transfers funds from an authorized bank account to cover the invoice payment. Call the county sanitary sewer office at 330-451-2305 to obtain an enrollment form.
Customers already enrolled in the direct pay program will see a debit from their account around the 21st of their billing month. Customers must insure that their account can cover two months of service.
Q: Will the county still use the postal date to determine whether my payment is one time?
A: No, the county must receive your payments by mail by the due date for the payment to be considered on time. Payments will be credited the day they are received.
Q: Who do I contact if I have additional questions?
A: Call the Stark County Sanitary Engineering Department at 330-451-2305 or email the office at email@example.com.
