  • Oil-service company opens in Osnaburg

  •   Texas-based J-W Energy has opened a subsidiary in Osnaburg Township to provide services for customers exploring the Utica shale.

     A Texas company hoping to do business with companies drilling the Utica shale has opened a local office and is hiring.
    J-W Wireline Co., based in Addison, Texas, has opened an office on a 10-acre site at 1520 Wood Ave. SE. The operation is a subsidiary of J-W Energy Co. and has 25 other facilities around the country, including three in Pennsylvania and one in West Virginia.
    The company provides a variety of well services for drilling companies.
    Perry Harris, J-W Wireline president, said he’s excited about adding a facility and expanding into the Utica shale. The company plans an open house in the coming months.

    J-W Energy formed in 1960 and now has six divisions. In addition to J-W Powerline, the company operates J-W Midstream, J-W Power, J-W Operating, J-W Measurement and J-W Manufacturing.
