News to know

There were two big NFL stories today. Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, who lost his job after the team signed Peyton Manning, was traded to the New York Jets. The Jets traded two draft picks for the popular Tebow, and they now have a quarterback problem of their own – they already have a solid starter in Mark Sanchez. Also in the news was New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton, who was suspended by the NFL for a year because of the team’s bounty program, which awarded players for injuring opponents.

Quote of note

"Now is the time for Republicans to unite behind Gov. Romney and take our message of fiscal conservatism and job creation to all voters this fall.” – Jeb Bush, who endorsed Mitt Romney on Wednesday, a day after the Republican took a commanding lead in the delegate race by winning Illinois. Romney hopes the former Florida governor’s endorsement will help when Louisiana votes on Saturday.
