Akron Children’s Hospital will collaborate with Aultman Hospital and the North Canton Medical Foundation.
Aultman Hospital and the North Canton Medical Foundation have joined forces with Akron Children’s Hospital.
The Akron facility is ranked a top children’s hospital by U.S. News and World Report. It is the largest pediatric care provider in Northeast Ohio.
Aultman announced Thursday it had signed a letter of intent for Akron Children’s to operate the inpatient pediatric unit at Aultman.
For the last five years, Aultman has collaborated with Akron Children’s physicians on outpatient pediatric subspecialty consultations on the Aultman campus. The expanded agreement will provide the convenience of Aultman with the added expertise of Children’s sub-specialty physicians. The agreement covers both in- and out-patient care.
On July 1, the North Canton Medical Foundation’s pediatric department will become Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatrics North Canton, an affiliated pediatric practice.
NCMF’s offices will be closed June 26-28 for testing of its new medical record system. Limited appointments will be available the first three weeks of July. Parents are urged to schedule sports, camp and kindergarten physicals now through June.
