  • The Massillon Museum is once again offering its annual survey of area artists’ visual creativity — and an opening celebration that’s certain to be a lively party.
    The Stark County Artists Exhibition opens from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the museum at 121 Lincoln Way E. There will be appetizers, desserts and a cash bar. Award winners will be announced at 8 p.m.
    The exhibition, on view through Oct. 31, includes 53 pieces of work by 37 artists who live and/or work within Stark County. A total of 265 pieces were entered, including paintings, drawings, photographs and sculpture.
    Jurors of the show are Anderson Turner, director of galleries at Kent State University; Dana Depew, a Cleveland-based artist; and Melissa Vogley Woods, and artist and project curator from  Columbus.
    Museum hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
