The Summit/Akron Solid Waste Management Authority (SASWMA) is no longer accepting televisions for recycling at the Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Center (HHWRC) located in Stow. The Stow center will continue to offer FREE and SAFE recycling of computers, unwanted paints, automotive products, batteries, and lawn care products.

Locally, there are three alternative ways to recycle televisions.  Best Buy Stores will recycle television under 32” for a $10, while provided you with a $10 gift card to spend, e-Waste in Hudson, will recycle televisions for a fee between $25-$80, and Regency Technologies accepts televisions sets over 32”, the cost depends on size. Visit our website at www.saswma.org or call 330.374.0383 for more detail information about these locations.

“Recycling items like televisions helps keep harmful metals out of our landfills,” says Yolanda Walker, Executive Director of SASWMA. “Taking advantage of the local television recyclers in our County is one way residents can responsibly dispose of their unwanted televisions.”
