Manchester junior softball pitcher Ashley Harbarger will readily admit, “(Big sister) was my role model, but I always wanted to be better than her.”

Residents who are targeted receive a phone call from someone claiming to be a local court employee. The caller usually refers to some type of discrepancy in regards to their jury service.

The department is changing in several areas. First the staff is developing into more full time positions.

Dyer, in his first term as Representative for the 43 District, has been the primary sponsor of eight bills and the co-sponsor of 110. He serves on four committees, Criminal Justice, Education, Insurance and Judiciary. Dyer and his family reside in Green.

Interim Superintendent Jim Brown said the changes will “get more kids served by this district. That’s the ultimate goal.”

Every time a student leaves the district about $5,500 goes with them. “I think it also led to a negative perception of this district. We are hoping by eliminating the pay to play, increasing the busing, increasing the opportunities at Springfield we hope to keep our great kids here in the district. We have lost a lot of top-notch students,” he added. The plan also included adding 200 high school students to the busing routes.

Among those seven wins are two against the Field Falcons, the team that swept the Spartans last season and cost them the PTC Metro Division title. “That win gave this team a lot of confidence,” the elder Ritch explains. “We had kids stepping up all over the field, especially in that first win against Field last Tuesday, when we were down 6-3 going into the bottom of the seventh inning and scored four runs to win.”

“I’m not big on words,” said young Ritch, when asked to further explain his team’s chemistry.
