On Saturday, Sept. 6, four Cleveland Browns greats will visit the Hartville MarketPlace and Flea Market to sign FREE autographs and visit with fans.
Hanford Dixon, Tom Cousineau, Felix Wright and Tim Manoa will be at the MarketPlace from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 6. The Akron Browns Backers will also be present to sign up anyone interested in joining their club.
Dixon wore no. 29 and played cornerback for the Browns from 1981-1989. He recorded a career-high five interceptions in 1984 and ’86. He played in three consecutive Pro Bowls (1987-89) and was widely regarded as one of the best cover-corners of his era. He finished his Browns career with 26 interceptions.
Cousineau, a linebacker, wore no. 50 for the Browns from 1982-85. He was a two-time All-American at Ohio State University before joining the Canadian Football League in 1979. With the Browns, he was a two-time All-NFL selection. In 1983, he had four sacks, four interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
Felix Wright played safety and wore no. 22 for the Browns from 1985-1990. In 1989, he led the NFL with nine interceptions, including one that he returned for a touchdown. In 1986, he returned a block punt for a touchdown that helped the Browns come back from a 14-point deficit to defeat the Minnesota Vikings.
Tim Manoa wore no. 49 as a fullback for the Browns from 1987-1989. He had his best season in 1989, rushing for 289 yards while catching 27 balls for 241 yards and scoring five total touchdowns. He also ran for 389 yards in 1988.
The Hartville Marketplace and Flea Market is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The MarketPlace is located on Rt. 619 in Hartville, just behind the Hartville Kitchen restaurant.
