After struggling for a couple of weeks, Akron finished strong in the final week, going 5-2 in their last seven games to finish the year 80-62, their fourth season in a row with 80 wins or more. Kevin Dixon pitched well to pick up his ninth win of the year, as the Aeros have Tuesday off before they begin their best-of-five series for the Southern Division Championship with Bowie Wednesday night.
Akron 4, Erie 1
W: Dixon (9-11) L: Christensen (7-10) Sv: Sipp (1)
Keys to the Game:
Akron jumped on Erie first when Ryan Goleski hit a solo home run in the second inning. Stephen Head followed with an RBI single in the third, giving the Aeros a 2-0 lead, which was enough for Dixon.

Matt Whitney, Head and Goleski collected two hits a piece in the victory.
Akron reliever Tony Sipp, who has been working his way back from an injury, collected his first save of the season to secure the Aeros victory.
