Five new, but familiar faces, are being added to the prestigious Swede-Olsson-Jim France Hall of Fame. During half-time of the Mancheter-Field football game, Stacie Swain Allen, Amanda Bennett Snyder, Harold Noleff, Lonnie James Hill and Richard Brokaw, were inducted into the Manchester High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Stacie Swain Allen is a 2001 Manchester graduate. She was a star softball pitcher, leading the Panthers to a 2001 Regional and State Championship. Stacie was named an MVP all four years in softball, PAC-7 Player of the Year twice, and 2001 Dapper Dan Player of the Year.
"It is a huge honor," she said of her induction. "I remember when I was little walking the halls of the high school with the plaques on the walls and thinking 'I hope I am up there someday.’"
She got her wish.
Amanda, a 1989 graduate, earned All Ohio League in basketball and softball and All District in softball. "I am very proud and grateful," she said. "I am proud to be a Manchester graduate and grateful for the opportunities Manchester gave me."
Harold, a1982 Manchester graduate, was named All-League in football, basketball and tennis. He was a qualifier in the regional track tournament for the 880-yard dash. “I am very proud of Manchester's commitment - of the athletic department and the school,” Harold said. “They give every athlete a chance to play and be a part of the game."
Lonnie graduated in 1965. He lettered all four years in football, two years in wrestling and one year in track. He was All Suburban League and All District in football and All Suburban in wrestling.
"It is very gratifying to me to be inducted," Hill said. "I have always been proud to have graduated from Manchester."
Richard, the honorary inductee, was a teacher, guidance counselor, principal and coach at Manchester Local Schools for more than 30 years. He impacted students at Manchester Middle School. Administrators often remark how fortunate the district was to have him on staff. His daughter, Nicole Brokow-Wood, and sister, Diana Morgan accepted this award on his behalf.
"My dad love this school and he dedicated his life to Manchester and to making a difference in peoples lives, especially," Nicole said of her father's induction.
A reception was held for all inductees, their families and friends at Jim France Stadium immediately following the football game.
