Lake, Ohio -

The Lake high school men's soccer team opened its 2008 season last Tuesday when they traveled to Stow to take on the Bulldogs.

The Blue Streaks wasted no time in lighting up the scoreboard when Josh Habeck headed in an Allen Meffan free kick only three minutes into the match. Lake would relinquish the lead when Stow scored twice to lead at the half 2-1.

Zach Hunter knotted the score at 2-2 only minutes into the second half when he lifted a ball in the direction of the Stow goal and the header was misplayed over the goalie by the Stow sweeper. The Bulldogs roared back with two more goals over the next 15 minutes. Lake missed several opportunities to score in the waning moments of the contest and lost 4-2.

Lake held their home opener on Saturday against St. Thomas Aquinas. Lake has not lost a home match in almost two years, and that streak continued as the two teams ended in a 2-2 tie. Zach Hunter and Devin Liskey scored for the Blue Streaks.
