Mount Union freshman Tyler Mettille (Canfield/Canfield) and sophomore Levi Simmons (Uniontown/Lake) were named Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week.
Mettille took OAC Track Athlete of the Week honors as he posted a season-best time of 53.63 to sit 10th in the nation in winning the 400 hurdles at the Marietta Twilight Meet this past Friday.
Simmons was the OAC Field Athlete of the Week as he won the long jump with a mark of 23-4 which is 15th best in the nation at the same event.
Both athletes will lead the Purple Raiders as they try to defend their OAC team title this week at the 2012 OAC Track & Field Championships at Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio.
