JACKSON TWP.  Following yet another successful season for the Jackson girls soccer program, senior Hannah Burgess is the latest member of the program to commit to play at the collegiate level.

Burgess, a midfielder for the Polar Bears, has been an important part of the lineup the past two years as Jackson compiled a 28-6-3 mark, including winning the Federal League, district and regional titles last season. She has signed to play for California University of Pennsylvania, an NCAA Division II school competing in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.

During her Jackson career, Burgess made her mark attacking the ball in the air, distributing the ball well to her teammates and showing an ability to put shots on goal from distance. She was joined for her signing by her parents, brother and coaches.

Last fall, she played an integral role as Jackson toppled the top-ranked team in the state, Walsh Jesuit, in the regional tournament and reached the state semifinals before falling 1-0 to Perrysburg in overtime.
