JACKSON TWP.  Senior lineman Luke Dye, a key part of an offensive line that paved the way for an explosive Jackson offense last fall, became the latest member of the program to commit to play college football earlier this month.

Dye signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his football career at Slippery Rock University. A three-year letterman playing center and a team captain his senior year, Dye was named First Team All-Federal League, First Team All-Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association and was also selected to postseason all-star teams for several local publications, including The Repository and Becon Journal.

Playing for head coach Tim Budd and his staff, Dye was part of a senior class that led Jackson to a share of the Federal League title and its second straight playoff berth.

He was joined for his signing by coaches, friends and family. Slippery Rock is an NCAA Division II program competing in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
