JACKSON TWP. Julianne Hodge is the third member of this year’s Jackson volleyball senior class to finalize her college choice, signing to play for Otterbein University.
Hodge, a defensive specialist at Jackson, helped the Polar Bears reach the state semifinals again this past season with 187 digs, 260 successful receptions a team-high 96-percent serving percentage. Hodge’s strongest assets on the court, according to Jackson head coach Jeff Walck, are her relentless approach in practices and games and her focus.
She joins an Otterbein team coming off a 30-4 season and a strong year in Ohio Athletic Conference play. With Mount Union and John Caroll among Otterbein’s league rivals, Hodge figures to have quite a few chances to play matches close to home in college.
