• Jacob Ickes recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds, but it wasn’t quite enough as Lake Center Christian fell 54-51 to Valley Christian in Portage Trail Conference boys basketball action. Caleb Bower added nine points in the loss for LCC.

• Kelsie Glass tallied a team high 15 points, including four 3-pointers, and Savanna Maynard contributed 12 for Green in a 45-30, non-league girls basketball win over Tallmadge. Marissa Berlin recorded a double-double for Green in the win with 11 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.

• Mackenzie Hance had 15 points to lead Lake, which survived a 30-point outing from Kent Roosevelt’s Kayla Fischer in a 58-52 non-league win.

• Preslie Halliwell scored a game-high 24 points to power Mogadore past Field 60-49 in a non-league girls basketball game.

• Senior center Sam Vanadia led all scorers with 22 points and Jarmond Hogg added 21 for Coventry as the Comets got out to a four-point halftime lead, but fell 74-62 to Woodridge on the road in a Portage Trail Conference boys basketball game.

• Green senior Mackenzie Shroyer won the 100 backstroke at the C.T. Branin Invitational in Canton. Fellow Green senior Andrew Rohweder broke meet records in the 200 individual medley (2:00.33) and 100 breaststroke (59.48).

• Springfield’s Natalie Phillips and Faith Dawson and Manchester’s Jordan Campbell and Karli Anker were named to the All-Tournament team for the Springfield Lady Spartan Holiday tournament, hosted by Springfield. Manchester defeated Springfield in the third-place game, 71-44, with Campbell scoring 22 points and Anker adding 19. Phillips led the Spartans with 17 points in defeat and recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds.

• Sophomore Garrison Keeslar led all scorers with 16 points and Kaleb Martin scored 11 of his 15 from the foul line to propel Green to a 61-49, non-league boys basketball win over Cleveland East Tech,

• Jake Maranville scored a career-high 31 points, including six 3-pointers, to pace Lake to a 60-41 non-league win over Canfield.

• Green senior Tyler Doerrer broke his own school record in the 200 freestyle, winning the event at the C.T. Branin Invitational meet. Doerrer set a new record with a time of 1:45.79 and also won the 100 freestyle while swimming a leg on the winning 400 freestyle relay.

• Lake Center Christian had both its boys and girls basketball games washed out - literally - by a water main break in the city of East Canton. The boys junior varsity and varsity games, scheduled for Friday, and the girls games slated for Saturday, were postponed.

• Kevin Coffman led all scorers with 27 points and Lukas Swartz added 22 as Mogadore routed Columbiana 95-58 in the Jackson Milton Holiday tournament.
