Jackson and Green's doubles teams each won one match before losing in the quarterfinals of the girls tennis state tournament
Jackson seniors Megan Reese and Emily Thomas won their first-round match before losing in the quarterfinals Friday in the Division I girls tennis state tournament Friday at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.
Reese and Thomas were 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 winners over Upper Arlington freshmen Ella Hazelbaker and Noah Mizer in the opening round. In the quarterfinals, the Cincinnati Ursuline Academy team of Nina Dhaliwal and Gabriella O'Connor beat Reese and Thomas 7-5, 6-0.
Also Friday, Green twins Anne and Maria Zivick went 1-1 in the doubles tournament. The Zivicks, who are seniors, were 6-3, 6-1 winners over the Perrysburg team of Belen Balibrea and Gemma Smith in the first round. In the quarters, Olentangy Liberty's Maddie Atway and Danielle Shoenly beat the Zivicks 6-3, 6-4.
Anne and Maria Zivick were the state runners-up in doubles a year ago. This was their third trip to state.
