• Police arrested a Woodrow Street NW girl, 17, at a Lipton Avenue residence on a charge of misdemeanor assault knowingly causing harm to the victim. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Faircrest Juvenile Attention Center.

• A Cleveland Avenue boy, 16, was arrested near the intersection of 7th Street and Orchard Avenue on a charge of possession of drugs. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene and later released to his mother with a signed promise to appear in court.

• Police arrested a Uniontown man, 21, at a 7th Street residence on a charge of offenses involving knowingly selling or providing alcohol to underage persons. The suspect was issued a summons to appear in Canton Municipal Court and released.

• An employee at a Whipple Avenue business reported that an unknown person or persons stole a battery jump starter and a pack of sand paper from the property overnight. The stolen items had a total value of $70 and an investigation is pending.

• An employee at a Pittsburg Avenue convenience store reported that a known individual consumed food inside the store without paying, then exited. The suspect ate a container of strawberries while standing in front of a cooler and as he left, the employee was able to record the license plate number of the vehicle. An investigation is pending.

• A Canton woman, 19, was arrested and charged with possession or consumption of alcohol by a person under the age of 21. The suspect was issued a a summons to appear in court and released at the scene.

• A Clearmount Avenue SE man, 74, reported that an unknown suspect forged his promotional check from a credit card company and used it to complete a fraudulent transaction in the amount of $15,500. An investigation is pending.

• A Pebblebrook Drive SW man, 34, reported that an unknown individual removed a package belonging to him from a communal mailbox or lock box. The package contained cosmetics with an estimated value of $118 and an investigation is pending.

• An employee at a North Main Street restaurant reported that an unknown person attempted to purchase food using counterfeit currency. The suspect used phony $20 bill, but was unable to complete the purchase as the money was recognized by the employee.

• Police arrested a Massillon woman, 20, on a charge of consumption of alcohol by an underage person. The suspect was taken into custody and released at the scene with a summons to appear in Canton Municipal Court.

• A Florida man, 24, was arrested during a traffic stop on Everhard Road on an outstanding Stark County warrant. The suspect was released to a sheriff’s deputy.

• Police arrested a 6th Street NW woman, 19, during a traffic stop on a charge of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was taken into custody, issued a summons to appear in court and later released.

• A Harmony Lane man, 45, reported that a suspect made threats of physical harm to him. It was reported that he also made threats to the other individual during a phone conversation, but the man declined prosecution in the case.

• An Orchard Hill Drive man, 57, returned home around 9:40 p.m. to find unknown persons inside his residence. He reported that both individuals were wearing ski masks and retreated back into the home when they saw him. A search of the property did not turn up any suspects in the home and an investigation is pending.
