JACKSON TWP.  Brothers Jackson Connelly and Jacob Lovell, both students in the Jackson Local Schools district, recently competed at the Junior Olympics meet held in Bedford and brought home medals.

Lovell, 13, is a student at Jackson Memorial Middle school and is a member of the track and field team. Connelly, 8, is a student at Sauder Elementary School and the boys are coached by their father, Mathew Connelly, who is the 2016 USA Track and Field Masters discus champion and the Jackson High School track and field throwing coach.

At the Junior Olympics meet, Loevell placed second in the discus and shot put for the 13- and 14-year-old age group. Connelly won the 9- and 10-year-old age group for the shot put and also took first in the turbo javelin. Lovell competed in several invitational meets during the spring and summer and placed at multiple meets, including the Columbus Track Classic, Elite Taste of Cincinnati Track and Field Invitational, Maple Heights Stallion Invitational and Northwest Classic.
