I am asking you to consider writing to your state representative and state senator to comment on the recent cuts suggested by Governor Strickland to the state budget. I am appalled at the services being cut. The safety nets for many – senior citizens, low-income families and now even to libraries are dismaying indeed.
Please, do consider writing for this very important cause. Too many young people are facing job cuts. I think it is time our governor and legislators faced the truth and actually raised the state income tax – not turn to gambling or using tobacco settlement money. Even restoring tax cuts made in earlier years would help fund the state budget. Too many of these folks are only worried about being re-elected, not about what is best for the state. Whether you are Democrat or Republican, or even Independent – the direction our state is taking is of great concern.
I’m concerned about our national economy as well as the state economy. I can’t remember a time when the future seemed so bleak.
