Springfield TWP, Ohio —
After reading the letter about my friend, George Pounders, I was inspired to write as well.
“He seemed to just know when someone needed him...,” sums up everything George was about. Once George and I loaded up equipment from a gentlemen’s booth out at Hartville and hauled it to Pennsylvania for him.
That was the type of person George was. He would call me up and ask to go with him when any of his friends needed lawns mowed, yards raked, on to pass out flyers when someone was campaigning.
He loved doing whatever he could to help someone and it taught me to be the same way.
I will always remember George as a man dedicated to the service of others. He never gave up on me when I was messing up my life and he stuck with me until I finally got my act together.
I will always be grateful to George and his sister, Elva.
