The financially strapped Coventry School District wants to close Lakeview Elementary School (which sits in Coventry Township), keep Turkeyfoot Elementary School (which sits in Franklin Township), and take out a million dollar loan to renovate the high school (which sits on Akron land) to make classrooms for the grade restructuring needed to move the Lakeview students. If they can get a million dollar loan, why not renovate Lakeview (a very solid building) and build on it. There is plenty of land available and a new gas well to help with utility bills. Coventry residents want their property tax dollars to support schools that are IN Coventry Township. Our property values will plummet even further if there is no elementary school in Coventry Township.
