Green can be proud of having city parks that are better than most and one of Green's best assets. They are well maintained and very functional for Green residents of all ages – from children to families to seniors. From football to soccer to baseball to fishing to picnics to quiet walks, Green has invested in parks that serve everyone. But perhaps most impressive are the activities that are planned each year – rain or shine. The time and effort invested to plan, organize, and implement the many activities certainly is a challenge and must take a great amount of time and creativeness; and coordinating all the participants in the activities has to be a stressful, hectic, and challenging time. And Parks and Recreation does this in spite of the unpredictable northeast Ohio weather, even having backup plans in some cases.
We have had the opportunity to enjoy many of the parks and activities as have many of our friends, and very much enjoy taking our granddaughter to some of the activities for children or just to enjoy the playground and walking trails – especially at Boettler and Southgate.
Recognition has to go to Mike Elkins, Superintendent, and Kim Goodhart, Coordinator and the entire staff in the Parks and Recreation Division for their efforts and perseverance every year to provide activities for all of the Green residents to enjoy. They are as much of a Green asset as the parks themselves. Thank you, Parks and Recreation, staff – keep up the great work, we enjoy the results.
