The Springfield Township Boyd D. Esler Senior/Community Center recently hosted two annual holiday meals. More than 180 seniors were served during the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.
Two groups from Springfield High School volunteered their time to help make the dinners a success. Staff advisor Leona Jones and the ladies from the Horomono service group served meals during each dinner and also provided help during clean up. The Spartanaires vocal group, led by Director Catherine Jenrette, performed during the Christmas dinner. Both groups were well received by the seniors and did an amazing job. Great things are happening at Springfield High School. We were able to witness the hard work of two outstanding groups during the holidays. On behalf of the seniors we’d like to thank the high school kids for their service to the Senior/Community Center during the holidays.
