Why is a vagrant living in a trailer?

Springfield Township, Ohio -

In a stunning reversal of years of hard work to enhance the property values in our community, the newest  Springfield Township Trustee, apparently with the advice and consent of the two veterans, (who should know better by now, but don't), has decided that he will no longer enforce zoning because it constitutes the "hassling" of residents.

For those of you who might have missed last week’s Board of Trustees meeting, here is the news flash...

The "resident" that Mr. Young has chosen not to "hassle" has lived in a recreational vehicle (RV) for the past two years. Perhaps Mr. Young has not read the Zoning Resolution, which clearly states: "recreational vehicles shall not be used as a temporary or permanent dwelling."  This "resident" does not pay property taxes, and is simply a transient vagrant who has decided to park himself, literally and figuratively, in Springfield Township.

This transient has admitted his violation, yet the Board of Trustees has decided that they can simply pick and choose which violations (and presumably which violators) they want to enforce zoning against.

Next, the Board will probably permit folks to live in sheds, tents and garages.

This all leads to the most difficult question:  Why pay taxes when you can live here for free?
