I have been the object of political smears in past election cycles. I kept silent. However, our national and local election advertising has descended to such a contentious level that I no longer will bide my tongue. The vitriol and media bias that is being unleashed against conservatives at every governmental level is revolting.
We were told that Mrs. Clinton had enough experience because she served in the Senate for one term from New York, and was the wife of a former philandering president.
We are being told that Sen. Obama has sufficient experience because he served little more than one year as a U.S. senator and has campaigned for the presidency. We know little about him, but his “most liberal” (even more liberal/progressive/socialist than Kennedy) voting record causes concern.
Gov. Palin, an unabashed conservative, is represented as everything except the accomplished and successful Governor of Alaska. She is willing to confront wrong practices.
Locally, Todd Snitchler is being maligned by his opponent for the seat as state representative. In my position as Hartville councilman, I have had the opportunity to work with Mr. Snitchler on projects of value for both Lake Township and Hartville.
I have found Todd Snitchler to be honest and forthright in every circumstance where we have had the occasion to work together. He has presented the facts to be considered and he did not “manipulate” the truth. In short, I was able to rely on the things Todd said in the past, and I look forward to working with him in the future.
Todd Snitchler represents the conservative political viewpoint, and I suspect that this is the reason for the smear campaign against him.
